There was a time—not that long ago—when emojis were full of stereotypes.
Girls could be princesses, brides and dancers, while boys got to be athletes, professionals and pretty much everything else.

As a “part two” to the iconic Always #LikeAGirl campaign, we took the fight for girls’ confidence all the way to the Unicode Consortium—helping change the emoji keyboard to better represent what girls can be and do, universally.

Working on a campaign that quite literally changed the language has been one of the great honors of my career.

First Lady Michelle Obama organically tweeted at the brand on our first day of launch. We responded in real time with a custom emoji. Then we jumped up and down and group-hugged like that Friends GIF. (TBH, I think we jump hugged first.)

We responded in real-time to every suggestion. (@watchingmyfeet ‘Badass’ is a personal fav of mine.)
